The Church Council for the Anglican, Methodist and Free Church Community met on Tuesday 11 June. We discussed a number of things including some events that are being organised by the Methodist Church which will be publicised on our website. One of these is a celebration at Trinity Methodist Church on 8th September of Messy Church, which is so popular in many churches including St Augustine’s. Trinity Methodist Church will be holding a service on 30th June at 3.00pm to celebrate the first birthday of Chelmsford Food Bank which does so much to provide practical help to local people in these difficult times.
We were delighted to hear about the success of the St Augustine’s Parent & Toddler Group on Wednesday mornings which is going from strength to strength – thank you to everyone who organises and supports that important activity. The Church Council also thanked Jane and Pauline for organising the very successful Vintage Cream Tea that was held on the previous weekend. The Church Council was really pleased to hear about a meeting earlier that day with the headteacher at Springfield Primary School. A number of very exciting possible joint activities and links were identified. We will be taking these forward and this is a good example of our desire to be out and working with individuals and groups in our community.
We continue to focus on the development of the church and our service to the community as we continue to seek God’s will and to serve him here in North Springfield.
